How It Works

Launch a company sport challenge in 5 steps. No spreadsheets, no manual tracking.

1. Buy MoveTokens

MoveTokens are how you unlock participant capacity. Each token gives you 10 additional participant slots that you can use across one or multiple challenges.

Not sure how many tokens you need? Use our price simulator - it will recommend the best combination of packs for your budget.

You can always buy more tokens later and add capacity to an existing challenge.

2. Create Your Challenge

Once you have tokens, create a challenge in a few clicks. You set:

  • Start and end dates — define when the challenge runs.
  • Scoring rules — choose how points are awarded per sport. For example: 5 pts/km for running, 1 pt/km for cycling, 25 pts/hour for yoga. You have full control.
  • Participant capacity — assign tokens from your balance (1 token = 10 slots).
Activity TypeScoring ExampleResult
Running & Walking5 points / km5 km run = 25 pts
Cycling1 point / km50 km ride = 50 pts
Swimming35 points / km1 km swim = 35 pts
Yoga, CrossFit, etc.25 points / hour1 hour = 25 pts

These are examples. You define the rules that work best for your company.

3. Invite Participants

Each challenge generates a unique invite link. Share it however you want, email, Slack, Teams, WhatsApp, or your internal comms tool.

There is no manual onboarding. Participants click the link and handle the rest themselves (see step 4).

Up to 200 participants per challenge. Need more? Contact us to see if we can help.

4. Participants Join

Here is what your participants experience when they click the invite link:

Log in with Strava
Land in the challenge

That is it. Participants connect their Strava account, and from that moment every activity they upload is automatically synced and scored. No data entry, no manual reporting.

  • Any device works — Garmin, Apple Watch, Wahoo, Zwift, ... that syncs to Strava.
  • Activities sync within minutes — most appear on the leaderboard within 5 minutes of upload.
  • Privacy-first — participants only see scores and basic profiles. GPS routes and personal data are never shared.

5. Create Teams

Once participants have joined, you can organize them into teams. The leaderboard will show both individual and team rankings, keeping the competition engaging at every level.

Teams are optional. You can also run a purely individual challenge if that suits your company better.

6. Good to Know

Supported sports

Almost all Strava activity types. Running, cycling, swimming, walking, hiking, yoga, CrossFit, and more. Distance sports are scored by km, time-based sports by duration.

Multiple challenges

You can run several challenges at the same time. Participants can join multiple challenges. Their activities count toward all of them automatically.

Live leaderboard

Rankings update automatically as activities sync. Filter by time period, see individual and team standings, and track activity breakdowns.

Strava required

All participants need a Strava account (free). Any GPS watch or fitness tracker that syncs to Strava will work with MoveTogether.
